The Reform UK candidate for the Southampton Itchen constituency has hit out at both Labour and the Conservatives in his website biography.

Alexander Culley describes his roots in Southampton as running deep, and recounts tales of visiting his grandparents with his sisters and spending “some of the most magical moments of our childhood here”.
He says he founded a consultancy based near Southampton Airport in 2021, but, “As a small business owner, the prospect of a Labour government fills me with dread”.
And he goes on to hit out at the current Tory administration and Labour, writing: “This shambolic Conservative administration has already made the UK uncompetitive by raising corporation tax on companies with profits over £250k from 19% to 25%. A Labour party addicted to spending other people’s money and interfering would only make matters worse.”
“As a father, I abhor the thought of Labour turbo-charging the woke nonsense that has infiltrated our schools,” says Culley. “The ‘Conservative’ Party has indulged the proliferation of harmful and divisive race and gender ideologies. Enough. Reform UK would banish both from our education system within 100 days of taking office.”
He also calls for a break in the “addiction of mass immigration”, claiming both Labour and the Conservatives “have shown complete contempt for public opinion on this issue”.
“Reform UK would introduce a selective, skills based, legal entry scheme,” he continues in his bio.
“Unlike Labour, Reform UK would operate a zero-tolerance approach to illegal migration rather than reward it with a de facto amnesty. Equally, Reform UK would seek the immediate deportation of foreign nationals who commit criminal offences here.”
Political forecasting website Electoral Calculus currently gives Labour a 97% chance of winning the Southampton Itchen seat at the general election on July 4. It was held by Conservative Royston Smith at the last general election in 2019 with an increased majority.
