Labour candidates in both Itchen and Test consituencies have won their seats in Southampton, as Kier Starmer's party celebrates a landslide victory after 14 years of Tory government.

Southampton Itchen, which includes Bitterne Park, was a Labour gain as local man Darren Paffey scored a 6,105 majority over Conservative Sidney Yankson, who was defending Royston Smith's 4,498 majority.

The Reform party polled 6,853, the Lib Dems 2,684, the Greens 2,793 and TUSC 264.
In Southampton Test, former city council leader Satvir Kaur won the seat polling 15,945 votes. Conservative Ben Burcombe polled 6,612, Reform 5,261, Lib Dems 3,252, The Green Party 3,594, Workers Party 775 and TUSC366.
It was a hold for the Conservatives' Caroline Noakes in the Romsey and Southampton North constituency, and a gain for the Lib Dems in Eastleigh.
Nationally at the time of writing the BBC were reporting Labour gaining 204 seats with 404, the Conservatives losing 239 seats with 110, Lib Dems gaining 60 seats with 68, Reform gaining four seats, and the Greens gaining three seats with a total of four.
