Police advice following bag snatching incidents

Police are renewing advice to women following further reports of bag snatching by a cyclist, bringing the total to eight incidents in one week.
Update: A man is now being questioned by police in connection with these incidents.


Bag snatches have been reported at Kingsland , Alfred Street, Radcliffe Road, Blackberry Terrace, Jannoway, Northam Road,
North Road and Oxford Avenue.

Police say none of these victims have sustained any significant injury. They are advising women to "remain vigilant and where possible, ensure their handbag is kept out of view..."

Previously portswood.info reported that a cyclist stole a handbag on Portswood Road.
