Resurfacing work is coming up for “portions” of Northam Bridge and Bitterne Road West, with some overnight closures, and diversions via Cobden Bridge.

On Tuesday, July 30 between 8pm and 6am resurfacing is scheduled to take place on westbound lanes of Bitterne Road West, with a westbound closure between Rampart Road and Northam Bridge.
On Wednesday, July 31 and Thursday August 1 between the same times, work moves to the eastbound lanes of the bridge and Bitterne Road West, with an eastbound closure between Union Road and Englefield Road.
Then on Friday night (August 2), resurfacing is scheduled for westbound lanes of Bitterne Road West, with a westbound closure between Rampart Road and Northam Bridge, and a lane restriction on the eastbound lanes.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, and diversion signs will be in place. Dates could also change subject to weather, and final repairs will apparently be required at a later date, with some lane restrictions.
