‘Like a Tiger’ is a result of Jaquie Daniels’ craftsmanship and production skills honed in her home studio.
Drawing inspiration from a word prompt in a songwriters' group to incorporate an animal into a song title, she says she found herself inspired by the iconic ABBA song ‘Tiger’ from their album ‘Arrival’.
She said the single “weaves a narrative of caution and intrigue, drawing parallels between the city's mysterious after-dark persona and the elusive nature of a prowling tiger”.
Speaking on the message behind the single, she said: "The city can be an intimidating place, where the unknown lurks at every corner. This song captures the essence of being wary of one's surroundings, drawing parallels to a tiger stalking its prey in the shadows."
‘Like a Tiger’, from her forthcoming EP ‘In the City’ will be available on major streaming platforms on July 26, and Jaquie will be playing with her husband Steve at TriFest on Saturday (July 27), scheduled on stage at 2.10pm.
