As reported, councillors went against planning officers’ recommendations to approve the housing scheme at a packed city council planning meeting in March, voting to throw out the proposals by a margin of three votes to one.
The appeal is now to go to an inquiry, which will give groups or organisations the opportunity to take part by applying for what’s known as ‘Rule 6’ status.
Individuals can also take part on the same basis, explains a letter to interested parties from the council’s development management team, which however adds that: “previous representations made to the planning application will be considered by the Inspector when determining the appeal”.
All further representations need to be received by the Planning Inspectorate by August 23, 2024 quoting the appeal reference, which is APP/D1780/W/24/3347358. The link is here.
Arrangements for the hearing are yet to be confirmed, and no date has been given for the decision.
