The council said on social media:
"Woodmill Lane works have finished earlier than expected!
"Woodmill Lane will reopen as usual on the weekend to all traffic with no road closures next week. Thank you to all the road users and local people for your patience during this urgent repair work."
But there could be more work to come in the future. Ward councillor Phil Webb added on his Facebook page: "While driving through Woodmill, you might notice that a section of the wall hasn’t been fully rebuilt. This is because further long-term work will be necessary, requiring detailed surveys and design work. Rest assured, I’ll try to keep myself and you updated as plans progress."
