Senior citizens have a right to feel safe in their city, and can voice their opinions at a meeting in Southampton on Monday April 3.
Southampton’s Later Years Forum is organising the event, from 2 pm at the Sir James Matthews Building on Above Bar
Street, to allow older people in the city discuss a number of issues
concerning their safety.
The forum will be discussing the important aspects of safety for
Southampton’s senior citizens, actions that could reduce the fear of
crime, and what makes people feel safe and secure at home.
Charlie Hislop, Later Years Co-ordinator at Southampton City
Council said, “It is important that older people in the city feel safe
and secure. The Forum steering group wants to invite people along to
the discussion to voice their opinions, so that they can represent
those views to those responsible for safety in the city. This is a
great chance for peole to have their say. ”
The meeting will also hear form Energywatch, the agency that is
keen to make sure that people are getting the best from their fuel
supplier.
