As previously reported, in March councillors threw out Sovereign Network Group’s proposals for 84 dwellings to be built on the green space, off Midanbury Lane.
The inquiry will give groups or organisations the opportunity to take part, although previous representations will also be considered.
Members of the public can attend and, “at the [Planning] Inspector’s discretion, express their views”.
It takes place in the Civic Centre council chamber, from 10am and is expected to run for around eight days. Proceedings are also expected to be streamed online.
