Plans to brew mead at historic Witts Hill farmhouse lodged

Benhams Farm House on Witts Hill 28 10 24An application for a premises licence to brew mead for online sale has been lodged for Benham’s Farm House on Witts Hill.

The application, by Wisdom of Ragnar Ltd, says the residential address will be “used for production and picking of products only for onward online sales, mostly to be delivered by post anticipated to commence early 2025”.

It confirms that alcohol won’t be sold for on-site consumption or directly to the public from the premises.

According to Sotonopedia, “in the 1840s the farm was owned by William Witt, whose family gave the name to Witts Hill”.
