Alongside platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Mastodon, we're testing Bluesky as a fresh space for links to our content.

At the same time we're posting very little on Twitter for now.

If you decide to give Bluesky a try – perhaps as an alternative to Twitter – say hello! We’d love to hear from you and see how you’re finding the platform.

Bluesky, launched in 2021 with support from Twitter’s former CEO Jack Dorsey, was created to provide a decentralised social media option where users have more control over their data and content visibility.

According to Wikipedia, "In May 2024, [Dorsey] announced he was no longer on the board of directors. He instead endorsed X, which he called 'freedom technology'".

Don't forget you can also get a usually weekly, more comprehensive round-up of all our latest stories, and sometimes more, by subscribing for free to our regular email digests. The subscription form is here, and, data-wise, pretty much all we need is an email address.

We're reader powered! Please help us keep publishing today...

Our local news is currently free to view, but not to produce. Join people just like you who already chip in to keep our site going by becoming a 'Good Friend' supporter for just £2.99 a month - or more if you can.
