The original plans drew mixed public feedback, with eight objections and three comments in support.

As previously reported, three three-bedroomed properties were proposed on land adjacent to 61 Oaktree Road, but the proposal was later revised as a result of pre-planning consultations with the planning authority.

The scheme was revised to two detached units, and moved further from neighbouring boundaries.

Public comments largely focused on issues like parking, privacy, and perceived overdevelopment.

Key objections included worries about loss of light and privacy for nearby homes, insufficient parking provisions, and potential impact on sewerage and surface water systems. Several residents also raised concerns about the original bulk and scale of the proposed development.

Some residents, however, voiced support for the project, noting it aligns with the area's character and will provide much-needed family housing.

Planning officers have responded to public concerns in their report to the panel, which is available here. [link]

The Planning and Rights of Way Panel is scheduled to consider the application on Tuesday, November 12, with proceedings beginning at 4pm.
