Road closures and traffic updates for Southampton drivers this week

traffic queue cobden ave 20240827 111028Here are the latest scheduled roadworks and traffic changes set to take place near our area over the coming days, according to the latest update from Southampton City Council.

Bitterne Road West will be closed eastbound between Cobbett Road and Maybray King Way on the night of January 21, starting at 8pm, for carriageway repairs.

Portswood Road remains closed between St Denys Road and Brookvale Road as part of ongoing highway improvement works, with overnight closures from 8pm to 6am continuing until January 18.

Wide Lane, near the Mountpark industrial estate, continues to operate with temporary traffic signals, with the development works expected to run until February 21.

Temporary traffic signals will also be in place on Burgess Road, between Meadowhead Road and Bassett Avenue, from January 20 to January 24 for Southern Water works.

Finally, Woodmill Lane at the Forest Hills junction will have temporary traffic signals from January 20 to January 31 between 9:30am and 3:30pm for gas works. See our previous piece for more details about this location.
