Appeal for information after e-scooter rider injured in Portswood Road crash

portswood road crash signPolice are appealing for information following a crash involving a van and an e-scooter on Portwood Road on Tuesday (Feb 4).

Police were called at at 2.40pm to a report of a collision involving a white Ford Transit van and a black e-scooter.

The incident resulted in a road closure between the junctions of Mayfield Road and Bowden Road, according to Southampton Travel.

Officers said the rider of the e-scooter, a 17-year-old male from Southampton, suffered serious injuries and is currently being treated in hospital.

A spokesperson said: “As part of our investigation, we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident and anyone with relevant dash cam or CCTV footage.
