The longstanding cafe, which occupied the ground floor at 13, Manor Farm Road, has latterly been closed for renovations, with work being carried out to the front and scaffolding still in place.
Now a window sign says that the diner is to reopen under new management on February 28 (a Friday) in a new format.
An application for a premises licence has also been lodged with the city council by applicant and leaseholders Cre8ive – Spirits Ltd.
It explains that “The premises [are] currently a cafe/brunch area [selling] coffee from 7.30 – 2pm. The premises can seat 52 people. Our aim is to reopen Thurs – Sat 5.30-9.30 as a cheese and wine bar, removing some of the tables and chairs lowering the capacity.”
The proposed opening hours on the licensing application are 7 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and Sundays, and 7 am to 10 pm on Saturdays.
Cre8ive – Spirits is also recruiting for staff. The company has been contacted for comment.
