Surrounding roads were closed off on Sunday afternoon (March 2) as suspected unexploded ordnance at a property on Manor Farm Road was dealt with.

The item had been discovered “while magnet fishing at Woodmill”, and brought back to a Manor Farm Road address.
An Explosives Ordnance Disposal team attended to assess the device and make the area safe, and took it away, a police spokesperson said.
Police put road closures in place at various local junctions, including:
- Manor Farm Road with Woodmill Lane
- Manor Farm Road at the junction with Nursery Road
- Oak Tree Road at the junction with Wellington Road
- Oaktree Road at the junction with Woodmill Lane
Roads were reopened by 4.30pm.
