The building at 104 – 106 Cobden Avenue has been in residential use in the past, is understood to have previously been occupied by the St Mary's College chaplain, but “has been vacant for many years and currently serves no use to the school”, according to the application.

It says a subsequent planning application will be submitted “in due course for [a] new replacement 2-storey teaching [building] on the site.”

The application says demolition work could be completed by the end of June, and would “simplify the construction logistics for the forthcoming development of the modular building proposed to the south of the site” – as previously reported.

The school is a mixed 7 – 19 SEN day school, since 2021 on the site of the former St Mary’s College. Ofsted rated Yarrow Heights ‘Outstanding’ following its November 2022 inspection.
