With loud chants of "No bus gate" and slogans about saving shops and keeping roads safe, the march wound its way through a busy Portswood from Trago Lounge to Waitrose.
The scheme, which "aims to improve bus journey times and reliability, improve road safety and encourage people to spend more time and money in the District Centre" according to the council, is currently on a six-month or longer trial.
A motion against the scheme, which says it's "been shown to be poor for business, anti-car, dangerous for pedestrians, and a nightmare for residents" has been tabled by Conservative group leader Cllr Baillie, who was on the march, for Wednesday's council meeting (March 26).
