The new Saturday opening hours begin on May 24, and are expected to continue throughout the summer, operators said in a social media post.
The move adds to the library’s existing weekday schedule and will offer an extra opportunity for people to visit.
Visitors will be able to explore a new collection of two-player games and take part in a changing line-up of seasonal activities, with further details to be confirmed.
The library’s usual hours are advertised as Monday 3pm to 7pm, Wednesday 1pm to 5pm, and Friday 1pm to 4.30pm.
The library has been run by community radio stations Awaaz and Fiesta FM since January 2024, following a two-year break in service after previous operator Social Care in Action pulled out. More background in our previous piece here.
