The council has granted conditional approval to redevelop a site to the rear of Thorold Road with a two-bedroom detached dwelling with parking.

The site currently contains a single storey garage accessed from St Catherine’s Road, according to planning documents used for storage.
Conditional approval was originally granted in 1965 to build three garages on the site.
“The siting and appearance of the proposed dwelling is well designed to broadly fit within the suburban character of the street scene and spatial context of the local area,” was the view of the planning case officer in their report.
The scheme was approved on March 20. There were no public comments on the council’s planning portal.
