Council contractors are due to patch the potholes on the unadopted road running alongside the social club to the council car park on Monday (May 12).
Some residents have long expressed frustration over the road’s condition.
The Friends of Riverside Park (FORP) urged the council to adopt it during a Court Leet session in October 2023.
As previously reported, then FORP secretary David Hutchings told the ancient court there were three key reasons for adoption: the danger posed by large potholes to disabled people, cyclists and others; the council’s inability to regulate parking on an unadopted road; and the need for better emergency access to the adjacent section of the park — an issue brought into focus by an incident at the time, when emergency services had to use Woodmill for access.
