Driving restrictions to lift after Bitterne Road West gas repair

SGN logo on van CU 600px 20250508 121053Work by SGN to fix a gas leak on Bitterne Road West at the junction with Bullar Road and Athelstan Road has been completed, with all driving restrictions expected to be lifted on Monday afternoon (May 12), the council says.

As reported, it was understood that hand digging had been necessary due to the density of utilities under the road.

The final task was to repair the road, which has apparently been “successfully cured” at the busy junction.

Good afternoon, yes SGN have now removed all restrictions and Bitterne Road West/Bullar Road/Athelstan Road are fully open in all directions
