We reported last month that surveys for the proposed replacement of the existing bottleneck with two new highway bridges could lead to lane restrictions or closures.

The overnight works are now expected to run for around five weeks, from May 19.

They will take place between 8pm and 6am, excluding weekends.

The bridge and some surrounding roads will be affected at different times over the period. In particular Northam Road, Brinton’s Road, Britannia Road, and Old Northam Road among those expected to see disruption.

Some footway closures are also planned.
