The company, which has offices in Netley Abbey and Oxford Street as well as Bitterne Park, says it wants to help answer the questions many first-time buyers and sellers have by bringing together a group of experts from the region.
A solicitor, specialising in conveyancing; an independent mortgage advisor; a surveyor and several property agents will be on-hand at the informal drop-in session.
Ruth Pearce, Thurman Rye's branch manager at Bitterne Park, stressed the informality and relaxed atmosphere of the event: “This is not a sit down seminar or anything like that – just a chance to have a free chat with some professional experts over a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit,” she explained.
“Contrary to the doom and gloom being peddled by the media, now really is an excellent time to buy your first home so it’s worthwhile getting a real understanding of your options - which is what this event is all about.”
Michael Rye, Partner of Thurman Rye (pictured) said: "Buying your first house is a big decision and it can be a pretty daunting proposition if you don’t fully understand the system or the choices available to you".
"It's also really important for first time sellers to be armed with as much information as possible and we're here to answer their questions too. Knowing what your choices are and the costs involved when you already have a mortgage and a property to sell is key to making the right decision".
The Thurman Rye first-time buyer event will be held at their Bitterne Park office – 4 Bitterne Park Triangle, Cobden Avenue – between 11am and 3pm on Saturday 22nd October.
You can just pop in at any time throughout the day for an informal chat with one of the advisers, or call 023 8055 0115 for more information.
