She says: “I have been wondering for a long time about a question and wonder if anyone can answer it.  I grew up in Manor Farm Road and went to the schools. When I was in the junior school in the 60s I remember a member of the royal family visiting in the park, and I thought a helicopter brought them. But perhaps it’s just my imagination. Can anyone confirm this!!”

If anyone else can remember a royal visit to Bitterne Park, possibly involving a helicopter, do let us know by commenting below.
