Haberdashery Darn It and Stitch has closed down after seven years at the Triangle.

A window sign proclaimed the news to Triangle shoppers this week: “Closing down sale – 50% off everything!!!”
Darn It and Stitch was first opened in 2018 by Cathy Baker, and was taken over in 2020 by Corinne Paddock.
Corinne celebrated four years of running the shop last October, and in an interview with bitternepark.info at the time said it hadn’t always been plain sailing - particularly given that it was in the middle of the lockdowns when she opened, followed by the cost of living crisis.

Before Darn It and Stitch, the premises were home to Rob Fry’s photographic studio, preceded by the Paradise beauty salon.
Further back, the Public Hangings gallery is thought to have occupied the site prior to Paradise, with Memory Lane antique shop there even earlier.
bitternepark.info understands that the next incarnation could be a community-focused hospitality business.
