Roadworks on local routes this week

thomas lewis way from woodmill lane bridge 20250514 140902Here are the latest scheduled roadworks and traffic changes set to take place near our area over the coming days, according to the latest update from Southampton City Council.

 

Work continues on Thomas Lewis Way, with temporary traffic signals operating overnight from 8pm to 6am until July 16 for ongoing highway maintenance.

Athelstan Road will be affected by resurfacing works, with temporary traffic signals in place on June 30 and July 1 (9:30am to 3:30pm), followed by a full road closure on July 3 and 4 during the same daytime hours.

Stoneham Lane near the Willis Road junction will also be under temporary signals on July 3 and 4 (9:30am to 3:30pm) for carriageway repairs.

Temporary signals are due on Burgess Road at the Woodcote Road junction on July 4 (9:30am to 3:30pm), also for carriageway repairs.

Work continues on Botley Road, where temporary traffic signals remain in place until July 12 for ongoing Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks works.

On Hill Lane, the southbound side is closed from June 30 for approximately ten weeks for a major gas main replacement.

Temporary traffic signals are also in place at the Portsmouth Road junction with Station Road until July 2 (9:30am to 3:30pm) while telecoms work is completed.
