Thomas Lewis Way closed due to diesel spill

The council said on Bluesky:"Thomas Lewis Way remains closed due to diesel spill earlier today. We will be resurfacing the worst affected areas of the carriageway over tonight and tomorrow night, splitting the work to enable the roads to be reopened as soon as possible"

Previously: The council's Bluesky Southampton Roads account warned this morning (July 10) at around 7.15am that "Thomas Lewis Way is closed in both directions between the junctions of Horseshoe Bridge, Lawn Road and St Deny's Road, the closure continues Northbound between St Denys Road and Mayfield Road. Please plan your journey". Police posted that it is due to "a large diesel spill".
