The event is a chance to learn more about future-proofing your home and the reality of the various options.
Homes will be open for bookable times between Saturday 13 – Sunday 21 September. Visitors can browse the homes directory and book their visits at www.greenopenhomes.org
Co-organiser Mark Hancock said: "Enabling residents to see for themselves what can be done to improve and future-proof ordinary homes is a fantastic way to engage people, spread knowledge across our communities, and inspire personal efforts and change."
Visitors will be able to see low-cost energy improvements, water-saving ideas, wildlife-friendly gardens, lifestyle changes and vegetable growing. They can also discover what it’s like to live with a heat pump or solar panels.
The event is organised by Transition Southampton.
