Arrest after woman taken to hospital from Harcourt Road address

harcourt road general view 30 12 25A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was taken to hospital from a Harcourt Road property with what's described as "a serious head injury".

Hampshire police said an investigation is currently underway after attending the property just after 7.30pm last night (Dec 29), where a woman was treated by paramedics.

They said she was taken to hospital, where she currently remains.

The air ambulance, which flew over Bitterne Park yesterday evening and landed in Riverside Park, is understood to have assisted with the incident.

Police said a man had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and remains in custody.

Officers were still on the scene today. “If you do have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak with them,” a force spokesperson said.
