Volunteers are being invited to take part in a spring clean at Chessel Bay Local Nature Reserve later this month.

The clean-up will take place on Saturday, February 28, from 10am - 2pm at Southampton’s first Local Nature Reserve, on the banks of the River Itchen.
The Chessel Bay shoreline regularly becomes strewn with litter, much of it plastic washed in by the tides, and community efforts remain vital to help protect wildlife and improve the habitat.
Participants are asked to meet at the end of Quayside Road, SO18 1DP, and to wear suitable clothing, sturdy footwear and strong, well-fitting gloves. Parking is limited and there are no toilets on site.
