The work is to install high-voltage cables at the southern end of Thomas Lewis Way, understood to be between Portswood Road and Horseshoe Bridge.
Work will take place on sections of around 100 metres at a time “to minimise the impact on road users”.
There will be an overnight closure of Thomas Lewis Way for one night on March 15 from 8pm to 6am to install the contraflow system.
