Webb holds Bitterne Park for Labour; Foster takes Portswood for Greens
No party now has overall control of Southampton City Council following Thursday's local election results, while Phil Webb won for Labour in Bitterne Park and Lori Foster for the Greens in Portswood.

Phil Webb held his Bitterne Park seat for Labour by 158 votes, with the Conservative candidate second and Reform third, while Lori Foster took the Portswood ward seat for the Greens, beating Labour's candidate and former public health cabinet member by 568 votes. Elsewhere in the city, the leader of the council Alex Winning lost his seat in Shirley to the Lib Dems.

• Reform and Greens pick up seats as Labour lose control of council
Seventeen of the 51 seats were up for election, one for each of the city’s 17 Wards.

Following the announcement of the results, no party has a majority of seats and as a result, the council is in no overall control. Discussions are now expected to take place between the political groups to agree how an administration can be formed.
The full make-up of the council is now as follows:
- Labour: 24
- Reform UK: 8
- Liberal Democrats: 7
- Conservative: 6
- Green: 6
