The windows were smashed in the early hours of Saturday (20 June), the same day hundreds attended Compton’s Garden Party at Bitterne Park Triangle. The event went ahead despite the damage.
On its GoFundMe page, the business said: “Recently, we were devastated to discover that our windows had been deliberately vandalised and smashed. The damage has left us facing a significant and unexpected repair bill that no small independent business ever plans for.”
Speaking previously, Tommy Compton said: “It’s obviously been done on purpose to try and ruin the community spirit,” adding that “tears came from support, not from someone smashing windows”. The business has also appealed for information about the incident.
