Eastleigh Lions Club is appealing for a business sponsor to help maintain the £250 first prize at this year’s annual duck race from Mansbridge to Woodmill.

The charity says it does not want to reduce the top prize, which has been £250 for the past 36 years, and is seeking a local business willing to provide sponsorship in return for publicity on race tickets and at the event.
The race, which sees 2,500 numbered ducks released into the Itchen, takes place on August Bank Holiday Monday and attracts hundreds of spectators. Tickets are available for those wanting to take part, while watching the spectacle is free.
