Plans have been unveiled for 110 affordable homes as part of a major regeneration scheme in Southampton.

Southampton City Council appointed Sovereign Network Group (SNG) in September last year in a fresh attempt to bring forward housing as part of the Townhill Park regeneration project.
The housing association is now carrying out a public consultation on proposals for a mix of houses, maisonettes and apartments on land east of Meggeson Avenue.
Designs feature mostly two-storey residential buildings alongside a seven-storey block on the southern corner of the site at Meggeson Avenue.
SNG said the homes in the development, known as plot two in the wider programme, will be available through shared ownership and social rent.

A spokesman from SNG said: “It is part of the Townhill Park Regeneration programme, which aims to create a better place to live by delivering over 600 new high-quality homes and community spaces.
“Plot two will deliver houses, maisonettes and apartments, and these will be available through shared ownership and social rent.
“The ongoing consultation runs until July 16 and provides residents with the opportunity to share comments on our plans and influence the final designs.”
The housing provider held a community consultation event last week at Townhill Park Community Centre ahead of submitting a planning application later this year.
If approved, construction is scheduled to begin in early 2028.
The development will be served by four car parking areas, with access from Meggeson Avenue, Townhill Way and Paulet Close.
All houses will have private gardens, while residents in maisonettes and apartments will have access to public open space and private balconies.
Bitterne Park ward councillor Gordon Cooper (Lab), pictured below, attended the consultation session alongside more than 70 residents and said he was impressed by the plans.
Cllr Cooper told the Local Democracy Reporting Service: “I don’t doubt the council and SNG are working at pace.
“The rules by which they have to work are the rules and I just wish they could be more streamlined.
“That’s not because the planners in the council are dragging their feet. It is because they have to go through due process.”
Cllr Cooper said ward councillors have informal meetings with SNG to monitor progress on the project.
He added: “As a councillor in Bitterne Park I regard Townhill Park regeneration as one of the biggest things to make sure it happens and to do everything we can to help it.”

The council also appointed SNG to bring forward proposals for plot nine at Rowlands Walk, where the housing mix is still being developed.
