From paint-splattered artwork to line dancing and a Wild West supper, a week of free creative activities will culminate in a community hoe-down in Townhill Park this August.

Residents are being invited to dust off their cowboy hats - or borrow one on the day - as The Edge Hub on Meggeson Avenue hosts a packed programme of free summer activities in Townhill Park.
The fun begins with a Week of Creativity from Monday 17 to Thursday August 20 at The Edge Hub on Meggeson Avenue. Sessions include a Cowboys and Cowgirls fancy dress party, a paint-filled "Splat Attack", creative writing, collaborative art and textile design.
Organisers recommend wearing messy clothes, and children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
The celebrations continue on Saturday, August 22, when The Green, Meggeson Avenue, will be transformed for The Edge Hub Summer Hoe-Down from 2pm to 7pm.
The free event promises line dancing, face painting, horseshoe tossing, panning for gold, sombrero decorating, candyfloss, toffee apple bobbing and live music as the sun goes down, along with a free Wild West cowboy supper.
Fancy dress is encouraged, with prizes for the best costumes, while cowboy hats will be available to borrow.
