Dog show organisers Second Chance Animal Rescue have confirmed that the temperatures are likely to be too high to safely run a dog show

"I know a lot of people will be disappointed but animal welfare comes first," said TriFest organiser Paul Jenks in an update.

Second Chance also advise that, at the moment, it's best not to be walking dogs at all in the afternoon heat.

The rest of the show will go on, although hats and sun cream are advised, as well as something to sit on.

For more information about the event, see our previous piece.

• TriFest takes place from 12pm to 7pm on Saturday, July 18, at the Cobden Bridge end of Riverside Park.
