Incident closes Cobden Avenue

IMG 0089 car cobden ave 600px processed MH 19 7 26Multiple emergency vehicles attended what was decsribed as a "bad" traffic incident which saw one car turned on its side near the Midanbury Lane/Cobden Avenue junction at around 8.30am on Sunday morning (July 19).

Hampshire Constabulary said they were called at 8.45, and that "Minor injuries were reported". Cobden Avenue was opened one way around 10.30am, with the road later fully reopened.

A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters from St Mary's Fire Station were called at 8:50am on Sunday 19 July to reports of a road traffic collision on Cobden Avenue, Southampton, where a vehicle had left the road and come to rest on its side."

"One casualty was released from the vehicle by firefighters before being handed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) paramedics.

"Crews made the scene safe before returning to the station at 9:50am."
