The proposal follows pre-application advice from Southampton City Council concerning the property at .6 St Catherine’s Road, near the junctions with Thorold Road and Cobden Avenue.
Planning documents stress “No extensions, alterations to the external appearance, new windows, rooflights or changes to the building footprint are proposed”.
The proposal would provide accommodation for up to six people in six bedrooms, one created from a former reception room. Documents say the three-storey building would provide "generous bedroom sizes and shared kitchen facilities".

The site will retain three off-street parking spaces and provide bicycle parking.
Four public objections had been lodged, with no councillor comments at the time of publishing. Residents’ concerns include possible parking issues, noise, refuse storage and the cumulative impact of further HMOs on the character of the area.
The application is open for comments until August 21 on SCC’s portal, where more details can also be found.
