Southampton City Council said bridge resurfacing is complete and the temporary 20mph speed limit has now been dropped, but the bridge is still closed to vehicles from 8pm to 6am as work continues on other maintenance.

It said it “will confirm the date of completion, and if this will also require any night working during the start of September, as soon as possible”.
