An extension to Bluestar’s 16 route will create a direct bus service to Southampton General Hospital from the east of the city from August 30.

The route will be extended via Northam, Southampton city centre, Southampton Central Station, Hill Lane and St James' Road before continuing to Southampton General Hospital and Aldermoor Shops.
The service will operate every 30 minutes during the day Monday to Saturday and hourly on Sundays.
The council says the change is part of a wider package of changes coming into effect on August 30 – as noted last month, including a new Bluestar 6 service connecting Townhill Park with Bitterne and the city centre via Peartree and Woolston.
