Audio: Multi-band TV-themed charity night

Sofa City posterSofa City Bands Collective is hosting a charity gig at Talking Heads with a raft of local bands performing in aid of Jail Guitar Doors – a charity founded by Billy Bragg – and the Society of St James. Sofa City Bands Collective is a group of Southampton bands that come together sharing their skills and talents in order to organise gigs across Southampton and Winchester. They will be hosting alongside The Spiraltones an SCBC night at their very first charity gig at The Talking Heads on Friday November 18.

Bands performing include Neko Roshi, The Spiraltones, Accrington Stanley, Sombrero Fallout, Radioactive Bones, Botyov1791, Flying Alexanders, Jocky Wilson Said, Why don’t uke?, Shimmering Bees, Stuart “sweetchunks” Blakeledge, with special guest star MC Catherine “Hepwright” Wright.

Local artists collective Unit 11 will be transforming the stage to look like a big television set, and there will be plenty of seating as well as room to dance. The charity gig doors open at 7.45pm with the first band live at 8pm. Each band perform three songs each, including one TV theme cover.

Tickets
Tickets are £5 waged, £4 unwaged on the door; alternatively tickets can be booked online at £5 (with a 50p booking fee which gets you a free limited edition badge) All profits made will be going to local homelessness and substance misuse charity The Society of St James and Jail Guitar Doors.
