Advertising feature: The University of Southampton is looking for participants aged between 25 and 40 for a discussion on modern family life. As a thank-you for taking part we are offering each participant Love2shop gift vouchers worth £20.
We are looking to hear the views of men and women aged 25-40. We would like to hear from you, whether you are currently living with someone or not. We do not expect you to share personal experiences (though you are free to do so if you feel like it) but to give your opinions on how you see things.
The focus groups will be held at local venues: St Denys Church Meeting Rooms and in Townhill Park Community Centre. They will be taking place in the evenings (6 till 8pm) on selected dates in February. There will be around 10 participants in a group and each group will either consist of only men or only women participants. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. The discussion will be led by a researcher and will run up to 2 hours. As a thank-you for sharing your views we will be offering each participant Love2shop gift vouchers worth £20.
All information that is collected during the research will be kept strictly confidential.

Further details
The Centre for Population Change (www.cpc.ac.uk) at the University of Southampton, in co-operation with a number of universities internationally, is conducting a new, cutting-edge research study on modern family life.
Although we know that family life is changing rapidly nowadays, with fewer people marrying and more people living together without marrying, little is known about the specific reasons why people choose to marry or not, especially once children are involved. In order to find out more about the reasons behind such choices, we will be collecting data through group discussions (called focus groups) in a number of countries, including England, Australia, Italy, Poland and Russia. We are interested in similarities and differences in people’s attitudes and behaviours between these countries. This is why we are very much interested in your opinions about couple relationships and family life!
The findings from the focus groups conducted in the different countries will be compared and the results of the research will be published in academic journals and presented at academic conferences. They may also be shared with policy-makers to inform improvements to family policy. Should your views be quoted in any of the published materials, your name and other personal data will be changed so that you remain entirely anonymous.
If you are interested in participating or learning more about the study, please contact Paulina on 07545424066 (please text or call and I can call you back) or by e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
