Fire at Junction Inn

Fire at Junction Inn St DenysWe were sorry to hear that a fire broke out at The Junction Inn in St Denys on Saturday (Feb 18). One local said it looked as if the worst damage was to the living accommodation above the pub. Another described the aftermath as looking "awful".

The Echo reported that 25 firefighters from across the city were called out, but that nobody was hurt. Pic front page & below: Ainsley

The following pics were taken at around 8pm by Simon Meacock, who reported that by 10.15pm most fire engines had gone, there was no smoke, but the road was still closed. He said it looked like most of the smoke was coming from the back.
