Southampton's arts, culture and music festival, EjectorSeat, which was scheduled for August 25, has been cancelled due to "an unsuccessful funding application", according to organisers.
Festival Director Matt Ince said on Facebook: "We are sorry to announce that EjectorSeat Arts Festival this year has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances relating to an unsuccessful funding application on which the event was relying. We hope to deliver an engaging and exciting programme for you all in 2013."
The event was due to bring an eclectic mix of music, art, poetry, family activity and food to Southampton's Palmerson Park for the third year.
Bands announced to date included Happy Mammoth (London), Abi Wade (Brighton), Crooked Beat (Southampton), The Spiraltones (Southampton), Flamingods (London), Living Tall In Dallas (Southampton), and Gang Colours (Southampton.
There was also to be a film tent in partnership with City Eye, a theatre area with Eastleigh's The Point, and an 'arts market'.
