Residents are being invited to the official opening of a newly revamped play area in Octavia Road, Mansbridge at 2pm on Saturday May 20.

The playground - known as the Chase-about play area - has undergone a makeover in recent months thanks to Ł20,000 worth of funding from The Onyx Environmental Trust and a further Ł7,000 from Southampton City Council.

As well as new play equipment, the site’s tarmac surface has been replaced with grass to make it both more attractive and friendlier for families to play on.

The work was carried out following fund raising work by the Mansbridge Residents’ Association to improve their local play facility.
