Ford factory under threat

Ford plant in Swaythling An announcement is expected shortly by Ford about the future of its Swaythling plant which builds Transit vans and employs 500 people. Built in the '30s and used to assemble Spitfires during the war, it's the last vehicle manufacturing site in the UK. Ford's CEO Alan Mullaly has reportedly flown into Britain today for discussions about European restructuring. Full story on Eastleigh News.
