bitternepark.info can reveal that pigeons are to blame for the malfunctioning Triangle clock, which has caused time to stand still in Bitterne Park since early February.

We understand that the clock has gone wrong, and has therefore been set to remain at 12 o'clock, because six pigeons have taken up residence in the tower, laid eggs amongst the works – and left rather a mess into the bargain.

The council says it will be cleaning up after the birds, and the clock engineer from Smith of Derby will then reset the clock.
