Free removal of unwanted cars

car All residents in Southampton now have the opportunity to have their unwanted cars removed free of charge thanks to the city council, Charles Trent and Hants Fire.

The new community scheme has been set up to reduce fires in abandoned vehicles within Southampton which can help you if you have a vehicle that you no longer wish to use.

All you need is proof that you live in the city (i.e. a council tax bill), proof of ownership (V5 form) and vehicle keys if available. Take the relevant documentation (not the car!) to one of the following and your vehicle will be collected:

  • City Fire Stations, at St Mary’s, Hightown or Redbridge
  • One of the council’s local Housing Offices
  • Charles Trent’s (Greenfix) office, 544 Third Ave, Millbrook
